Serve as a member agency liaison and support the ongoing development of member agencies through training, on-site consultation and connecting members to appropriate resources and support offered by GCFD.  Ensure that all pertinent information on member agencies are documented and communicated with the community team.


  • Promote the ongoing development of community members and agencies. Promote engagement in GCFD programs and training.
  • Gains and keeps current on the assigned community region or agencies, ensuring all data and related information is kept up to date and relevant.
  • Manage assigned Community Service areas or agencies ensuring accurate and timely response to needs of those members.
  • Provide technical assistance to agencies in the areas of reporting requirements, general food program operations, volunteer recruitment and succession planning, resource management, transportation and underscoring the importance of food safety.
  • Maintain a turnover file.
  • Assist in the planning, monitoring, and analysis of GCFD programs.


  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience in social service or social project management.
  • Strong written and verbal skills - bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and valid insurance, regular travel throughout Cook County required.
  • Must possess or obtain, within six months of hiring; State of Illinois Food Service License.
  • Strong problem solving skills by identifying complex problems and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to take directions, adapt to changing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills for coordinating with partnerships, internal partners, and community potential partnerships. 
  • Must be proactive and demonstrate high positive energy.
