  • Overview

    The Campaign and Prospect Manager reports to the Director of Development Services, and works directly with the Vice President of Development for Campaign related projects.  Maintains close working relationships with the Individual Giving/Major Gifts team, the Corporate/Foundation team, other Development staff, Finance, and senior leadership to support fundraising plans targeting individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations.


    Time will initially be divided roughly evenly between Prospect Research, Moves Management, and Campaign Management.  As Campaign specific needs diminish, time spent on Prospect Research and Moves Management roles will increase.


    Campaign Manager:

    • Overall campaign management and organization including pipelines, prospect tracking, strategy, task assignment and maintenance of timelines
    • Serve as Liaison to Campaign Consultants, Committees and Project Teams
    • Maintain Campaign Calendar, schedule meetings, prepare talking points, presentations, and meeting prep for Staff, Board members and campaign volunteers
    • Write campaign correspondence including proposals, meeting requests, and follow up

    Moves Management:

    • Maintain, update, and enforce a moves management system that drives cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors and prospects
    • Ensure that prospect data is up-to-date, accurate, and properly documented
    • Contribute to strategy sessions with the Development Team, providing information to facilitate the forward movement of prospect relationships

    Prospect Research:

    • Proactively identify major, corporate and campaign gift prospects through research on prospective donors, corporations, and foundations, while also providing a timely response to multiple requests from gift officers for information to support the cultivation and development of existing relationships
    • Produce in-depth, well-written prospect profiles and briefings based on analysis and data-mining using the donor database and external sources
    • Provide relevant alerts to development team by using news/web content services to track developments in the careers and lives of key donors and prospects
    • Other Duties as Assigned


    • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred
    • Three to five years of research and/or development experience
    • Previous experience in a Capital Campaign
    • Strong sense of discretion, confidentiality and an ethical approach to fundraising
    • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Tact, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with a variety of people
    • Ability to interpret and translate financial data
    • Highly collaborative, preferably with experience working as part of remote teams.
    • Demonstrated analytical skills to initiate and perform complex analyses and organize information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies and relationships among individuals, corporations and foundations
    • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint)
    • Knowledgeable about and committed to core GCFD values and able to demonstrate and communicate those values to others
    • Experience using Fundraising databases and research tools


    • Business to professional attire.
    • Evening and weekend hours may be required.
    • Interacts with GCFD staff, donors, board, community members and vendors.
